A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject.

The series focuses on a Wavemaster (magic user) named Tsukasa, a player character of a virtual-reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) called The World. Tsukasa wakes up to find himself in a dungeon in The World, but he has no recent recollections as he wonders where he is and how he got there. The situation gets worse when he discovers he is not able to log out and is trapped in the game. From then on, along with other players Tsukasa embarks on a quest to figure out the truth behind his abnormal situation.

Tsukasa is the main character of the story, a cynical loner Wavemaster who tends to avoid conflict with others. At the beginning he's seen waking up finding himself trapped in The World, and he meets Mimiru, a Heavy Blade with a poor attitude for planning and following things and with a love for exploring. Her lovely and passionate heart (she was the only one who cared about him in the beginning) eventually warms up Tsukasa's, and the two, despite his initial attitude to avoid her, eventually become close friends. Still, Tsukasa is still very closed towards Mimiru, yet she wants to protect and take care of him since she cares about him a lot.
